As seen below in the E3 extended gameplay trailer for Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, fans are shown how the main characters Chloe Frazer and Nadine Ross work with one another in their professional, yet fraught relationship to take out enemies by relying on both a divide and conquer method, as well as a concerted effort for specific baddies. While the combat ought to be fun and familiar to those who have played Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, The Lost Legacy also includes fresh environments inspired by the lush and diverse area of the Western Ghats in India to set it apart from its predecessor.
Speaking of in-game surroundings, Uncharted: The Lost Legacy’s set pieces will also feature a lot of environmental destruction, with one segment of the above footage showing Chloe and Nadine attempting to flee from an armored and weaponized truck that’s completely obliterating any and all barriers between it and the women. Almost every barricade, pillar, and tree trunk used for cover from gunfire gets blown to bits.
In addition to the aforementioned gameplay features, the latest Uncharted: The Lost Legacy trailer saves some space toward the end to let the game’s antagonist Asav, an Indian rebel leader, explain his reasons for acquiring ancient artifacts by the use of brute force. In a manner of speaking, he is prepared to sacrifice showing mercy to his competition in order to restore India to its flourishing foundations.
Taking all of this into account, while Uncharted: The Lost Legacy has been billed as a piece of paid DLC, it’s obvious that Naughty Dog has taken care to craft a game world that can stand alone alongside the fourth entry in the action-adventure franchise. After all, the developer has previously teased that the game’s length could be more than 10 hours, which is a sumptuous offering for an expansion.
Uncharted: The Lost Legacy is set to release for PlayStation 4 on August 22, 2017, and August 23, 2017 for European players.
