Scherr admitted as much during a recent interview with the outlet VentureBeat, with the writer proclaiming that since the series as a whole is so enjoyable, Naughty Dog using Uncharted: The Lost Legacy as a launching pad for further entries in the franchise wouldn’t be too outlandish of an idea. However, the game’s scribe was quick to state that the developer currently has nothing set in stone when it comes to furthering the adventures of Chloe and Nadine.

Despite not having concrete plans for an immediate followup to Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, Naughty Dog is definitely enamored with its two lead characters, and the developer hopes they not only are perceived as great hosts for returning fans of the franchise, but also new ones as well. Scherr explained, “What’s interesting about this is, because we have these brand new characters, in a way it’s like wiping the slate clean. We’re welcoming not only people who are fans of the series, who are familiar with the characters, but also people who are new to the series.”

All things considered, should Chloe and Nadine become the fresh faces of the Uncharted franchise from here on out, it will be interesting to see how the fans respond to the two potentially taking the lead for an all new series of their own. After all, Naughty Dog has already confirmed that Nathan Drake won’t even be making a cameo in The Lost Legacy, so the heroines will definitely have a lot riding on their shoulders.

Uncharted: The Lost Legacy is set to release on August 22, 2017 for PlayStation 4.
